Joe Zawinul

Joe Zawinul, who I greatly admired for so many reasons, seemed to take a more Ellington-ian approach (to synths). I went further back and looked to the classical tradition. Same with my compositions.  Zawinul seemed to treat synths organically in that he found how they were different instruments, not just keyboards, and played them that way.  - LYLE
